Shane and Tegan

Hi there!

My name is Shane and father to Celeina, Tegan and Elliot. I am happily married to my wife Correen; whom encouraged me to bring Tegan on this wild adventure trip to New Zealand for the 2011 Rugby World Cup.

I am bottom centre of photo.  This was a tour to Halifax for their 7s tournament (1995)

My interest in rugby started prior to playing the sport and I eventually took up the sport at the ripe age of 25, playing for the Fredericton Loyalist RFC. It was fantastic to bond with the other players and party our faces off at the many tournaments and tours we participated in. I played only 3 years and then left to play other team sports, currently I enjoy ultimate frisbee.

I will always watch a rugby game if I am able to and I have been attempting to build my excitement for the 2011 RWC by watching as many rugby union games as I can set my PVR to record. I have focused mainly on Six Nations, Super Rugby and the Tri Nations tournament.

Photography is a passion of mine and I am all set ready to capture our trip in still and motion using my HD camcorder and DSLR. I am particularly interested in panning shots as well as time lapse photography. I hope to document and share our adventure as it unfolds on this blog.

My daughter Tegan is 7 now and I am 41, both of us have never been outside of North America. This is a huge opportunity for her to experience a unique culture and Tegan will come home with a lifetime of memories from the trip. Tegan is a bright star in the Irish Dancing world, she is only 7 now but has been dancing for 4 years. She competes in Feisanna and is always working to improve her dancing skills. Tegan also enjoys playing guitar, swimming, riding bikes, backcountry camping and playing with friends.

Cheers!
