Prepaid mobile broadband in New Zealand - revisited

From Telecom NZ comes this package it is basically a 4 gig data plan that you add use with your wireless stick in your computer.  The nice thing is, is that if you go over 4 gigs you get another 4 gigs for $30

Mobile Broadband 4GB $81.51 per month 10c/MB for the first 815MB.
No cost for the next 3281MB.
After the included 4GB, you'll pay 10c/MB for the next 300MB and nothing for the following 3796MB.
After that, data costs 10c/MB.

If you use less than the metered portion of data (300MB with the 500MB option, 611MB with the 2GB option, 815MB with the 4GB option), you'll only be charged for what you use that month. Any included data that you don't use will not be rolled over to the next month.

If you use more than the 500MB, 2GB or 4GB of included data then you'll automatically get the same amount of data again (to use in that same month) for $29.95. This is charged at a rate of 10c/MB for the first 300MB with the remainder (200MB with the 500MB option, 1748MB with the 2GB option, 3796MB with the 4GB option) being at no cost. And after that's used up, you'll pay 10c per MB.

This sounds more promising having up to 8 gigs in a month for a charge of around $112 NZD.  Currently there is a promotion doubling the amount of bandwidth for the first 3 months.  So you would get 8 gigs for the $82 price.

Hopefully the wireless broadband companies will be competing hard for our money during the RWC 2011 and provide us with some really impressive options.

In Canada, Rogers has a 5 gig prepaid plan for $65/month.

Here is a screenshot of what 5 gigs of bandwidth will net you in webpages, photos or even hours of Youtube.

For me personally, I will likely need all the 4-8 gigs of bandwidth to maintain my blog updates.  I plan on submitting many photos and videos of our planned trip.  Utilizing free access might be a disciplinary task to keep under my allotted bandwidth.
