There is nearly 12,000 kms between Calgary, Canada and Auckland, New Zealand. This is a dream vacation to be able to attend the Rugby World Cup in New Zealand with my daughter.
- We will be traveling around New Zealand for 39 days
- We are planning a 6,000 km journey around New Zealand
- Our travels will take us 1300 kms of longitudinal distance
- Latitudinal distance covered will be 988 kms
- We plan on seeing glowworms at least 5 times during our trip
- My daughter and I will jump out of a perfectly good airplane for the first time
- I am planning on tasting as many local brewed beers as possible on this trip ("Warning driver brakes for breweries" bumper sticker may apply)
- Sleeping in our campervan at least 30 nights
- Taking at least 100,000 photos and 100+ hours of video while on the trip
- Planning on making at least 39 blog entries; at least one for each day of our trip
- Albatross, Blue Penguins, Kiwi, Kakapo are among the birds we want to see
- Horse riding down a trail
- Scooter ride around Stewart Island
- Visting Lord of the Rings locations
- Sand surfing Northland dunes
- Visiting at least 10 lighthouse locations
- Going on 5 different tramps(hikes)
- See an active volcano
- Jet boat ride down a river
- Kayaking on ocean or river
- Taste the famous meat pies, fish & chips and ice cream
- See the southern lights (aurora australis)
- See the Haka performed by the All Blacks
