Parakai Springs

Being just 35 minutes from downtown Auckland, this may be our first campsite when we arrive in New Zealand.  Camping here gives us 50% off the admission rates to the pool.  The pool has waterslides, hot pools and although there wasn't any information on it; a movie pool.  What better way to relax after the long flight than a soak in the hot springs at Parakai Springs.

I am excited to be spending these 22+ days camping with my girl in our campervan.  We will have to grab some groceries and toiletries once we arrive.  In gas stations they have what looks like vending machines with prepared food; I saw this on another blog and they were called takeaways, although all takeout food places (restaurants, chip shacks, etc) seem to be called takeways. 

From the Parakai Springs website we found this place; Tree Adventures.  Hopefully we have enough adrenaline and energy to hop right into something like this after the flight over... or is it under?  There is a minimum height requirement and it looks like Tegan would only be allowed to complete the first 4 courses.  Maybe she has a spurt by next September.

It looks like great fun and being surrounded by the forest will be wonderful.  It sounds like we get to enjoy a thrilling Flying Fox ride at the end of the course as well.  Bookings are essential.
