This was an impressive showing for Canada. The boys were within 3 points of getting a 1/4 final game out of Australia, but it just wasn't in the cards. Since this is Canada's 2nd showing at the 2011 HSBC Sevens World Series, the team is really on the rise in their effort and abilities on the field.
Canada beat France by a slim margin 12-7 in the 1/4 final bowl.
They went on to play Wales for the Semi Final Bowl and beat them 24-17, another close score. Wales had take the bowl at the USA Sevens, nice to see them lose out to Canada in this tournament.
Then they faced Japan in the Bowl final and Canada beat Japan by the score of 33-12 for the Bowl trophy.
New Zealand took the overall lead in the HSBC Sevens World Series when they beat England in the final 29-17.
